Recovery Loop Privacy Policy
Last updated August 17, 2026
Recovery Portal LLC ("Recovery Loop," "we," "us") operates the Recovery Loop web portal and mobile apps for recovery coaching, sober-living, and treatment-center alumni organizations. This policy explains what information we collect, how it's used, and who can see it. It applies to every Recovery Loop app and to every organization's portal on recoveryportal.net.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name and email address, provided when your organization invites you or you sign up.
- Recovery information you enter — the daily and weekly check-ins you choose to submit, including mood, cravings, and any notes you write, plus your journal entries, gratitude entries, goals, sobriety date, and emergency plan if you use those features. This is self-reported by you; we don't infer or diagnose anything from it.
- Location, only when you check in to a place — if you use the location check-in feature, we record the exact coordinates of where you checked in and (if applicable) checked out, along with the name you gave that place. We do not track your location at any other time, and the app never reads your location in the background. After 30 days, the precise coordinates of a completed check-in are permanently reduced to roughly city-level accuracy; the place name and the times are kept.
- Messages — messages you send or receive in your care-team conversation with your coach, house manager, or organization administrator.
- Device push token — if you enable notifications, we register a token with Apple/Google's push service so we can deliver alerts to your device.
- Basic diagnostics — standard technical logs (e.g. error reports) used to keep the service running reliably.
How we use it
Your information is used to operate your account and to let the staff of your own organization — your coach, house manager, or organization administrator — support your recovery. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or third-party tracking.
Who can see it
Recovery Loop is used by many separate organizations, each with their own private portal. Only staff inside your own organization — the coaches, house managers, or administrators you're connected to — can see your information. It is never visible to another organization, and it is never public.
Data retention and deletion
Thirty days after a location check-in ends, its precise coordinates are permanently reduced to roughly city-level accuracy, so the exact place you were is no longer recoverable. The check-in record itself — the name you gave the place and the times — is retained. For any request to access, correct, or delete your account information, including location history, contact us at chad@recoveryportal.net or your organization's administrator.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — encrypted connections and access controls that restrict data to your own organization — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using commercially reasonable measures.
Children
Recovery Loop is intended for adults using or supporting a recovery program and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
